Gavin has been farming his entire life in the Borden / Jerramungup districts in the South-East of Western Australia. Because of his background, combined with an interest in soils, He has a very clear understanding of the needs and requirements sandy soils in Perth.
This understanding comes from the experience of some difficult soils on his farm. After ongoing research and trials, he has found what makes the difference to turn what was unproductive land into productive land.
Some of this information does conflict with the general view of the time, but it does not conflict with results, and that’s what counts in the final analysis. Now he is finding that the industry is moving in the same direction with managing soils in the agriculture sector.
After discovering a source of very high quality raw material on his farm, and with his experience with soils management, has been able to put together a blend that will do as has been explained elsewhere.
